A collection enters the room
Chapter 01
The public chapter
The Natanov Collection’s own archive records projects in Yaroslavl, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm and Yekaterinburg in 2005, followed by another Yekaterinburg project in 2009. Photographs preserve visitors, displays and encounters around the works.
Chapter 02
A biography through records
This story concentrates on Edik Natanov’s collection activity as represented by that public archive. A photograph can document a meeting with an exhibition; it cannot by itself establish authorship or an artwork’s ownership history. The five project pages below preserve that distinction.
Chapter 03
What remains private
The collection website refers to expert and technical documentation with access restrictions. Those original files have not been inspected for this journal. No interview with Natanov was conducted, and no personal motives or first-person statements are invented. Dates, venues and translated titles of these projects are attributed to the owner’s archive.
